City Project
Welcome to the City Project web site!
With these web pages the Movement New Humanity, social expression of the Focolare Movement and administrator of this site, aims at offering news and infornation about the activities that, throughout the world, the communities of the Focolare Movement propose in order to accelerate in our cities the achievement of the “common good”.
Our aim is to give cities a soul, having every single person, by herself or in a group, rediscover the contribution that she can give to the community where she lives, being an active and responsible citizen.
The activities put into practice are the most diverse, at regional, national, or even international level: from cleaning a street in order to improve the conditions of the neighborhood, to reestablishing relationships in an apartment house, to initiatives aimed at integrating those who are lonely or in difficulty, such as immigrants or elderly, up to political actions.
Clicking on Testimonies and news, you will be able to read a number of experiences, presented according to different areas of interest.
On the other hand, clicking on Thinking the city and Library you will find an opportunity for thought, with a small press review, cultural elaboration, and the links to other experiences of people, who work in order to make truthful the project of universal brotherhood in every city district.
There is even more: in the section In the world you will find a map, in order to get to know in real time all the initiatives taking place throughout the world.
This web site would like to be an opportunity to increase the exchange of ideas and achievements with those who love their own city, inviting them to “think globally and act locally” at the same time, exactly as the URL you have just clicked: glocalcity.org!
Enjoy your web-surfing!

His message is simple: adults have been talking about environmental threats for more than 20 years, and now it is time to stop talking and start planting millions of trees in order to reduce the excess carbon dioxide that is warming the planet.
