On Saturday April 17th 2010, in Massa Martana (Province of Perugia, Italy), the second edition of the meeting “A Network of cities in Umbria” will take place. This year the specific title is “Young people change the city”

On March 20th 2009 the mayors of municipalities of Umbria, gathered in Norcia, had signed an official declaration, where they committed themselves to link all their towns in a regional network, giving birth to a workshop of positive experiences, to be shared and multiplied.

The local authorities had thus made their own Chiara Lubich's cultural and spiritual legacy: universal fraternity, which inspires a variety of projects and initiatives, and is particularly fruitful in politics.

The meeting in Massa Martana has young people as its main topic. On Saturday 17th  in the morning the mayors, who are members of the Italian Association “Cities for Fraternity”, will get together, while at the same time, but in a different location, representatives of Coordinating Committees and  youth Organizations will meet, to share ideas, experiences, and problems; in the afternoon three workshops will take place, respectively focused on sport, mass media, and social engagement. Their aim is to shed light on the role of young people in politics,  with active and concrete proposals, that might help in improving the towns. It is a definite step forward, in order to put into practice policies, that have young people as main players.
